I had the honor of knowing Anthony Owen THE go to guy in the UK for TV magic through the early days of AOL Instant Messenger. Yeah..THOSE days before Facebook, Instagram or Skype was ever a thing. A mutual friend introduced us because of our love of card magic using adhesives.
Through the years Anthony and I not only shared ideas back and forth but he became like a mentor to me when it came to TV magic and my dreams of being a magic consultant one day.
Thanks to his guidance, kindness and willingness to guide a young magician I had a chance to do something that I love with magic in ways I never dreamed.
Sadly we lost Anthony two years ago today but his memory, and legacy, will live on forever. Speaking of his legacy it's captured beautifully in his book Anthony Owen: Secrets. It's well worth a place on your magic bookshelf.
On a parting note I've included one of my all time favorite Anthony Owen routines below. It might even use some of that 'secret stuff' that I was mentioning earlier. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years.
As I always tell my magic buddies, let's do our best to appreciate the giants that we have in our industry while they are still with us. We miss you Anthony!
