One of the modern pioneers of stage manipulation, and parasol magic, has left us. Known throughout the world as Shimada this legend of magic entertained while honoring his Japanese heritage. I was so saddened by finding this article on the passing of my friend Shimada San. I knew him for many years as he and his wife and family traveled to/from Los Ángeles/Tokyo with VARIG. I was honored to have seen him preform at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. My condolences to his son and daughter on their loss. He not only preformed MAGIG, he made Magic in the lives he touched.
