A needle visibly penetrates a signed coin that is direct, visual, and absolutely astonishing. This is Needle Thru Coin, a collaboration between Artisan Coin and Nathan Kranzo.

Inspired by a routine from Martin Gardner’s Encyclopedia of Impromptu Magic (1978), this modern take turns an old idea into a fooling, examinable miracle.

You invite a spectator to examine a needle, a thread, and a Kennedy Half Dollar. They sign one side of the coin while you sign the other, making it truly unique. The coin is then wrapped in aluminum foil, and both of you can clearly feel the solid coin through the foil.

Then, impossibly, the needle and thread visibly pass straight through the coin. The foil is unwrapped, revealing the coin perfectly intact, with both signatures still in place.

Everything can be examined before and after. Your hands stay clean, there’s no complicated sleight of hand, and the coin can even be given away as a souvenir. The method is not only ingenious it’s practical enough to perform anytime, anywhere.

Included is a precision-crafted gimmicked Half Dollar, a gaffed (but innocent-looking) wooden spool, and all the necessary props except a regular Kennedy Half Dollar (2019 or later), which you provide.
