Gone Ring by Vladimir Zhukov x Hide
Gone Ring started with a simple idea: what if an ordinary card box could become the perfect container for an impossible vanish?
A spectator places their ring inside the box. You close it and hand it back to them.
They shake it.
They can clearly hear the ring moving inside.
They shake it again.
Nothing.
The ring is gone.
What makes Gone Ring so deceptive is how natural everything feels. There’s no strange-looking prop to introduce and no complicated procedure to justify. It looks like a completely ordinary Bicycle card box, making the moment feel even more impossible.
And you're not limited to rings. Coins, keys, borrowed objects, and other small items can all be used. The spectator can hold the box, turn it over, and examine it. The magic happens with an object that looks and feels completely ordinary.
Gone Ring was designed for real-world performers. The reset takes only moments, allowing you to perform it again and again without interrupting the flow of your set.
There’s no complicated story needed.
A borrowed object goes inside.
They hear it.
You shake the box.
And suddenly, it's gone.
