A single card with a different back is openly placed into the deck. The spectator freely thinks of any number from 1 to 52, then counts the cards themselves.

When they reach their number, the only odd-backed card in the entire deck is found at exactly that position.

The magician barely does anything. In fact, you never touch the deck during the reveal.
